Data Breach Class Action Lawsuits

Have You Received Notice Your Data Has Been Stolen?

Data Breach Cases

Hardly a day passes when news of yet another security lapse is announced and someone’s private data is stolen. It can happen to anyone, including people who are very careful about securing their personal information and social security numbers. When this happens to you, you feel helpless. The problem is even worse when your whole family’s private information is stolen, which often happens. Once a name, address, and matching social security number is stolen, there are thieves willing to pay for it, and misuse it.

Quite often, the companies who promised to keep your information secure, failed to take the necessary precautions to do so. And when companies learn about the breach, often weeks or months later, they respond by offering their customers their sympathy, and a year or two of credit protection, knowing that the stolen information is now “out there” for life.

The attorneys at Goldman Scarlato & Penny, P.C. know what you are going through, and we are here to help hold companies accountable for not securing your private information. We have experience bringing data breach class actions, and we can help you, too.

Anthem notified its subscribers of the breach. Many subscribers have reported instances of identity theft resulting from the Anthem data breach, including cyber-thieves who stole their income tax refunds and who placed false charges on their credit cards.   Cases have now been consolidated and a single, consolidated complaint has been filed.   Click here to view the complaint.  This case is pending in the Northern District of California.
